Nine(9)=> Navigation:

  
 
Nine(9) is made up of a whole bunch of peoples images, texts, sounds, and videos connected together. To make it easier to think about all this information, each persons content is thought of as a knowledge_map with links from itself to other peoples content. It's best to understand how this works by investigating the section on knowledge_maps.

1. Nine map_images form the basis of a knowledge_map.

2. Within each map_image nine points can each be made to link to data_elements: (sounds, texts, video clips or audio clips).This is done by the map_maintainer (you) who looks after the content in this particular knowledge_map.

Here clicking (X) will take you to a video-link, text-link, map-image-link, map-link or a sound-link.

3. To scroll around Nine(9), push the cursor to the edges of the browser display in any direction. The map images will appear as you hold the mouse on the edge. If the scrolling stops, click the mouse and you will see the next row or column of images.

A map_image is a special data_element. A knowledge_map is made by having 9 map_images linked together. Each map_image can be linked to several items:

Nine(9)=> Archive_view:

  
 

The archive_view can be arrived at from the map_view by using the '-' cursor. It is also the first screen on connecting to a Nine(9) server.

At the archive_view you will see 81 images from nine maps as you navigate your way around.

 

At this view the 81 images are arranged into nine maps with the title of the map in the top left hand corner of each.

Each map is divided into nine hot-areas. Each of which will link to a larger view of the map_image and the images surrounding it.

The arrows allow you scroll to the next map_image above, below, left or right of the one adjacent to the arrow.

The map_view can be arrived at from the archive_view or from the item_view using '+' or '-' cursors. This view allows you to see what kind of content is connected to what images.

 

At the map view you will see nine images from one map or parts of several maps depending on whereabouts within the the archive_view you clicked.

 

At this view the nine images have nine hot-areas. Each of which may be a link to a sound, text, video, map image, archive view, or item_view.

 

 

This creates the possibility of 81 links on any one knowledge_map.
